ElectroCity Reflection

My game of ElectroCity was successful. I used both renewable and non-renewable energy resources to power my town. I prospected for resources and found coal in my area, and built a coal factory to help support my town. My town also used renewable energy options like solar panels, wind farms, and a geo thermal plant to support my A+ rating with my environment.
My popularity was successful in my town, I only had a few folks that were upset with the tax rates. I did score a D- on my population size, I was not successful in growing my population. My environment was very good, which helped to make my population happy. I built farms and campgrounds as well, but was not able to increase my town size.
I think that I did a nice job creating and running my town. Good use of both renewable and non-renewable resources, fun activities for the population, and a healthy environment.
I used some Solar energy to help power my town. Solar energy is environmentally friendly and does not create any noise. It is also low maintenance to maintain. The down side to using solar is that it is still fair expensive according to Energy Informative article. The article also discusses how the use of solar needs space to set up panels which could be an issue.

Beginning of the Year Typing Reflection

My beginning of the year typing score was 11 words per minute (wpm). I took the base typing test in August after not typing all summer. My grade level goal is to reach 20 - 25 wpm by the end of the school year.

One question I am asked to reflect on is why it is important to learn to type. There are a couple of reasons that I can think of to perfect my typing skills, the biggest reason is to type fast enough to get my thoughts down. I also will be more productive if I increase my typing skills, I can complete an assignment in less time. Learning to type the correct way will help me later in school where I will need the stamina to type larger assignments.

The other question that I am asked to reflect on is how I plan to set myself up for successes this year with my typing growth. I plan to practice Typing Pal at home 3 days a week, working to complete all the exercises and get my name on the board. I also plan to focus on finger placement when typing papers. Keep reminding myself of the Go Slow to Go Fast motto, working on accuracy and speed, when I get frustrated learning this new skill.
